About The Program

The office of Recreation and Sport Facilities at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire offers internships each semester during the academic year. The program is intended for students completing an undergraduate or graduate degree in recreation or a related field. Interns gain leadership and supervisory experiences in all aspects of our comprehensive programs, including:

  • Intramural Sports
  • Open Recreation
  • Special Events
  • Sport Clubs
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Fitness Centers
  • Group Exercise
  • Facilities Management
  • Budgeting
  • Advertising

Along with an array of experiences, our interns receive:

  • A stipend (to qualified candidates)
  • Free membership to the Fitness Center
  • Free participation in all Aerobic classes

Current student (must be enrolled for credit before beginning the internship) $7.75 per hours with housing at The Priory or a Campus Hotel included.

If not a current student, employment will be LTE (Limited Term Employee) and housing is not included. Arrangements must be made in advance with internship supervisor.

Internship also includes a membership to the fitness centers.
