With its thriving music and arts scene, it makes sense that an impressive literary community also is emerging in the Chippewa Valley. Not surprisingly, given UW-Eau Claire’s strong creative writing programs, Blugolds are among those leading the way. The Chippewa Valley’s first literary journal — called Barstow & Grand in celebration of downtown Eau Claire’s evolution from a small-town bar culture to a creative arts hub — will give writers with ties to the area a new venue to share their work.
