Employment opportunity: Nursing Department Chair

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for the Department Chair position at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Department Chair is a tenured member of the department and provides leadership for the department in consultation and cooperation with the Dean. The Chair is a role model for department faculty and to develop and maintain a positive and productive work environment that promotes excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences is comprised of the Department of Nursing, with the main campus in Eau Claire and a distance education site in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The college offers CCNE-accredited traditional and BSN-Completion programs, as well as MSN and DNP programs of study, and serves over 900 students. Multiple well-established community partnerships and exchanges, cultural immersion programs, and global awareness initiatives at the university enhance student learning and faculty opportunities through the college.

A successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship, have leadership, management, teaching, and collaboration skills, along with mentorship abilities. An ideal candidate will be creative, collaborative, and demonstrate evidence of formal leadership in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs, supervisory and personnel experience, and will have an established program of research/scholarship. Requirements include a PhD in Nursing or a terminal degree at the doctoral level in nursing; current U.S. RN license with eligibility for licensure in WI; and eligibility for Tenure and for rank at the Associate or Professor level at the time of hire.
