The Nursing Convocation (Pinning) Ceremony will be held live at 11:15 a.m. or after Commencement this Saturday, May 21st. Each graduate will have their name and hometown read by a faculty member reader. When the name and hometown are read, the student is invited to stand along with one or more of the guests who will then proceed to pin the graduate. The graduates and their pinners will remain in the audience for the pinning.
As part of the Convocation ceremony, student speakers are selected by their classmates to represent them. The Convocation speakers include, Ellie Decker, BSN-Traditional Program-Eau Claire and Melody Burch, BSN-Traditional Program-Marshfield. In addition, during the ceremony Jacqueline Ganser will receive the Wisconsin Nurses Association Future Nursing Leader Award.
The Commencement (graduation) ceremony will be held in person in Zorn Arena on Saturday May 21st at 5:30 p.m. for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the College of Education and Human Sciences (see commencement website: https://www.uwec.edu/commencement/spring-commencement-ceremonies/). Ceremonies will be broadcast live on our website, Facebook and YouTube. It will also be recorded for viewing at a later date.
