Environmental Public Health students visited the largest horseradish manufacturing plant in the U.S., Silver Spring Foods, this spring on a class field trip. Students in Microbial Safety of Food observed the Food and Drug Administration's FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) in action on their tour of Silver Spring Foods. Silver Spring Foods manufactures, bottles and sells condiments like horseradish and mustard at their plant in Eau Claire.
