Alum appointed as director of University of Iowa School of Music

Tammie Walker Alumni

Tammie Walker has recently been appointed as director of the University of Iowa School of Music. She will begin her position on July 1, 2019. Walker is currently serving as the director of the School of Music at Western Illinois University. She received her undergraduate degree from the music program at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in piano performance and her doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in piano performance. 

Joe Kearney, interim dean of the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, said, ”Our School of Music is among the finest in the nation, and deserves an outstanding, innovative leader.
