The English Department is thrilled to welcome Aubrie Cox, who will join us this August as Lecturer and Assistant Director of the Center for Writing Excellence. Currently, Aubrie holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from Temple University. This May, she will earn her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville. As a teacher and administrator, Aubrie carefully attends to questions around writing centers as respectful, judgment-free spaces—and she brings these values into how she advocates for all students, including those most marginalized. As a scholar and as a creative, her work is widely published in academic and literary journals. When I recently asked Aubrie what excites her about joining us, she said,

I’m excited to be on campus later this year. When I came in December, I was heartened by how friendly and generous everyone was. It’s a privilege to be joining a department that recognizes the value that both the creative and critical bring to students’ personal and professional lives, and I can’t wait to work together and with our talented students.

We look forward to seeing Aubrie flourish in our department!
