Top 50 Accounting Schools in 2019

| Cyndi Bergman

The Accounting Program at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was just ranked 11 out of 50 universities nationwide.  This was the first time the university's accounting program has been ranked this high by this particular study.

According to study.com, numerous factors were considered when ranking these colleges and universities, starting with publicly available data, such as tuition, student retention, and graduation rates, from the U.S. Department of Education. They also looked at unique features that make a program stand out, like acclaimed faculty, job placement, and internship opportunities. If you plan on obtaining a Certified Public Accountant’s license, as most CPAs will need to complete 150 school credit hours, or the equivalent of a master’s degree.

The study noted that at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire "you can pursue a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting or an accounting minor. The school also offers a related minor in audit and control. You can network with other students and build your accounting knowledge through membership in the university’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi or the Student Accounting Society. Additionally, you can gain practical experience with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, helping community members to prepare their tax returns."

With University of Wisconsin-Madison ranking at #32, we are especially proud that our program is among such high caliber schools.
