University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire supporters can now show their Blugold pride with a new college Visa debit card design from U.S. Bank.

The card, which launches Monday, Nov. 15, features the W.R. Davies Student Center. The student center provides space to eat, meet, relax and build community. An on-campus U.S. Bank branch and ATM are located within the student center.

“UW-Eau Claire is pleased that we can continue our ongoing partnership with U.S. Bank and provide our students, faculty, staff and alumni with this great opportunity to show their Blugold pride,” said Roberta Christensen, assistant director of business and finance in UW-Eau Claire’s University Centers.

This new debit card design is a culmination of a partnership that has spanned nearly a decade. Through the years, U.S. Bank has supported the UW-Eau Claire community in a variety of ways. For instance, this semester, the U.S. Bank team at the on-campus location provided financial education seminars to students.

“Being able to provide students, faculty and staff with the knowledge, services and tools they need to take charge of their finances is key to how we support the campus community,” said Nathan Kuehl, the U.S. Bank consumer and business banking market president in Eau Claire. “This new card design takes that a step further by highlighting the W.R. Davies Center, the place on campus where the community comes together.”

This is U.S. Bank’s second Visa affinity debit card design with the University of Wisconsin System. In August 2020, U.S. Bank launched the college affinity card program with UW-Stevens Point. Two California State University affinity cards also are available, with additional cards planned for the program as it rolls out across the country. So far, more than 7,000 customers have chosen to show their school pride right on their debit card.

The cards can be ordered online, through the U.S. Bank Mobile App, or when visiting a local branch.
