FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREENFIELD, WI— From March 31 - April 11, students from chapters across the country competed in Pi Sigma Epsilon’s Virtual National Convention. Due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic COVID-19, the fraternity canceled its on-site National Convention in St. Louis, MO, and instead conducted all competitions on a virtual basis.

PSE Members participated in several competitions at the Convention, including the fraternity’s signature competition—the Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon®, PSE’s National Speakers, and two brand new competitions: the Mutual of Omaha Interview Competition and the New York Mets/Milwaukee Bucks Professional Sports Selling Competition at the National Convention. For the first time in the fraternity’s 69-year history, alumni were invited to compete in these virtual competitions.

Finalists for the National Awards Program and for the National Education Foundation Scholarship Program competed on-site as well. Winners were announced for the 19 different categories in the National Awards Program, and more than $35,000 in scholarships were awarded. PSE extends our deepest gratitude to all corporate partners, to our volunteers, and to our students for making the Virtual Convention possible. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Zeta Epsilon chapter rounded out a stellar year by earning the following awards at the Virtual Convention.

For the fifth year in a row, Eau Claire chapter received the Arno Kleimenhagen Award for Sustained Excellence. This award is presented to chapters who achieve gold status consecutively for three or more years.

The New York Mets and Milwaukee Bucks teamed up to lead PSE’s first-ever Professional Sports Selling Competition. Catie Behr, Peter Flesvig, and Violet Doolittle competed for Zeta Epsilon. Behr was one of 8 to qualify for the semifinal round, and then one of 4 to qualify for the final round.

Julia Gerhards and Lizzy Wolterman participated in the National Speaker's Competition. Wolterman was one of 9 speakers to qualify for the final round, her second straight year of being named a finalist in the Speaker's Competition.

Jordan Becker, Julia Gerhards, Kristina Kerr, and Violet Doolittle participated in the Mutual of Omaha Interview Competition.

Catie Behr, Samantha Wojnowiak, Juliet Kratochwill, Sydney Kratochwill, Markus Braun, Peter Flesvig, Nic Harris, and Tyler Kohorn competed in Pi Sigma Epsilon’s year-long Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® sales competition during the 2021 Virtual National Convention. Sydney Kratochwill was one of the 22 competitors to advance to the semifinal round of the Pro- Am Sell-a-Thon, giving Zeta Epsilon two straight years of placing a member in the semifinal round.

The 2021 Brian J. Andersen Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon Scholarship was awarded to Samantha Wojnowiak of Zeta Epsilon, the 2020 Midwest Regional Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon champion and a 4-time Regional conference participant.

PSE is the only national co-ed professional fraternity in the fields of sales, marketing, and management. However, it is open to all majors. PSE gives its members the chance to gain hands-on experience through experiential learning opportunities, participate in conferences both regionally and nationally, and network with professionals through PSE’s corporate partner program.

Jessica Gardner, associate lecturer of management and marketing, is the PSE faculty advisor and coach of the UW-Eau Claire Sales Team.
