On Friday, November 11th, Andrew Sentman, Angelina Lind, Linnea Vesely, Emily Fox, and Brett Berget, UW-Eau Claire accounting students, traveled to Minneapolis to compete in the Deloitte Audit Case Competition. Dr. Bill Miller, professor of accounting, was the team's faculty mentor.

Four weeks prior, the team was given a highly technical case covering two sales and leaseback transactions. They then had to research, solve, prepare, and present their findings about the case to a panel of judges. The competition requires participants to act as a Deloitte Audit Team when making a recommendation to a client on how to properly account for the case provided.

"I cannot be more proud of how these five students performed," stated Miller. "They really did all of us proud. The judges indicated that not only did their presentation exceed the requirements of the case, but that the case they were given was the most technically challenging of all the cases assigned this year."

Teams were also represented by Augsburg, Concordia University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Bethel University, and Luther College.
