Alfuth to present at Workplace Wellness Workshop

Mark Alfuth, a finance senior lecturer, will be presenting at the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce Workplace Wellness Network on Wednesday, January 29th from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Metropolis Resort and Conference Center. 

Today's financial world is incredibly complicated! Employees and employers together face many challenges. On top of that, financial health is a leading cause of stress in the workplace today. This discussion, led by UW-Eau Claire Finance Professor Mark Alfuth, will explore the issues of financial health and the importance of providing opportunities for employees to discuss these critical issues. Providing financial health education and resources can lead to more productive, efficient employees.

Alfuth is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. For the past 4 years, he has been a full-time instructor teaching advanced investing techniques, wealth management, and principles of finance. Prior to being full time, Alfuth was an adjunct lecturer for 14 years in the department. He “retired” from the business world after 28 years of experience where he spent 15 years with American Express in a variety of financial roles and then 13 years as CFO of American Public Media Group (at the time consisted of Minnesota Public Radio, Southern California Public Radio, Classical South Florida, American Public Media, and other entities). With this experience in both for-profit and non-profit businesses, he has also consulted on a limited basis. Alfuth has an MBA from the University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.

There is no charge to participate, but advanced registration is required. This event is specifically designed for organizations that have active workplace wellness committees or are implementing a new workplace wellness program.
