Two scholarships are available.
Applicants for this award must meet the following criteria:
- Admitted to the social work program
- Minimum Social Work GPA of 3.0
- Financial need is required
Elwood T. LeDue, known as Al, grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire High School. Was in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 and served in the Army of Occupation in Japan. He worked at Uniroyal. Was a co-founder of Royal Credit Union, served on its board of Directors for 16 years, and also served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Credit Union League.
Virgelee LeDue grew up in Neillsville and graduated from the Eau Claire State Teachers College with a degree in comprehensive science and English. She earned a master's degree in speech from UW-Eau Claire and coached high school forensics students. Virgelee taught for 30 years, including 19 years as a biology teacher, at North High School. She helped to find the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild.
