Commencement Checklist

Congratulations!  All your hard work is about to pay off and we are proud of you.  We hope you are as excited about the commencement ceremony as we are.  Please use the following as a guide to help you prepare for the big day.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

  • April 20, 2017
    Senior Countdown event in Ojibwe Ballroom of the W.R. Davies Student Center. One stop for all your commencement needs: tickets, regalia, get to know your Alumni Association and much more
  • April 24, 2017
    Speeches due for entry into the Student Speaker Competition.  Email manuscripts to Debra at commencement@uwec.edu.

 CHECKLIST

 ___________ Apply to Graduate http://www.uwec.edu/Registrar/student/Apply-to-Graduate.htm
 ___________ Reserve your tickets.  Complete the CampS - Student Center - To Do task.
 ___________ Pay outstanding financial obligations including but not limited to tuition, fines, tickets, fees, etc.  You will not officially graduate until all financial obligations have been reconciled.
 ___________ Update your contact information in MyBlugold and don't forget to provide an email other than your UWEC email address so we can keep you informed of exciting happenings at your Alma Mater
 ___________ Consider being a student speaker for Commencement.  Deadline for submission is April 24, 2017
 ___________ Contact Career Services for help finding professional positions, resume writing and other career-related assistance
 ___________ Visit the University Bookstore to order graduation announcements or academic regalia.  Consider the purchase of an international stole if you studied abroad.
 ___________ Attend the Senior Countdown Event on April 20 between 10am and 2pm in the Ojibwe Ballroom.

Arrange any special seating necessary for elderly or disabled guests by contacting the commencement office.

 ___________ Attend Commencement Rehearsal on May 19
 
  •  Report to Kjer Theatre 
    • 1:00pm to 2:00pm
      (for graduates participating in the 9am ceremony)
    • 2:15pm to 3:15pm
      (for graduates participating in the 2pm ceremony)
  • This is not mandatory but is highly recommended.
