The proposal
Student leaders have worked since September to help refine and shape the Blugold Commitment proposal. Discussions with the campus community in the coming weeks will enhance it further. The Blugold Commitment proposes that an additional student-approved tuition of $1,500 would be phased in over four years, beginning with a $375 increase in fall 2010. Students would have shared governance over how the resources are invested, and a portion of the tuition would be used to maintain access for students from low- and middle-income families by covering all or part of the differential tuition increase.
