The Dean of Students Office along with Multicultural Student Services is pleased to offer free barbering and haircutting services for UWEC students.
Barbers work primarily with clippers to blend, fade, and shave hair. They do not use scissors, thus this is not a service for students with longer hair, unless you are looking to make a drastic change. Barbers will be available monthly.
A stylist uses scissors and other tools to cut longer hair. Stylists will be available every other month.
Starting in fall 2025, these services will take place OFF CAMPUS. A sign up will launch at 10 AM on the 1st of the month (or the following workday, if the 1st is on a weekend/holiday). The first 12 people to sign up for the barber and 5 people for the stylist (when available) will then be able to schedule an appointment at Chip's Barbershop (416 Water Street) or JG Hair Magic (420 Water Street) starting the 5th of the month. Their name will be provided to the shop as a UWEC-funded appointment. The appointment MUST be scheduled for the same month and must happen before the 25th of the month. Failure to schedule OR show up for the appointment will result in a ban from future opportunities.
