Tele-Health
We partner with digital mental health provider Mantra Health to bring UW-Eau Claire students additional mental health support via the Care Hub. This all-in-one platform gives students access to the following free virtual services: Self-Care videos, Emotional Wellness Coaching, Therapy & Psychiatry, Connect Now (11 am-11 pm drop-in support).
By enrolling in Mantra, you can connect virtually to licensed therapists to address your unique needs during daytime, evenings, or weekend hours.
Visit Mantra Health’s Care Hub or download the app on Apple or Android. Use your school email address to set up an account. It’s free, easy, and includes care navigation support.
Crisis
If you need immediate assistance with crisis services, contact our office directly at 715-836-5521. (Last check in for crisis services is at 4:00.) Afterhours phone support is available through the UW 24/7 Mental Health support line. Call (888) 531-2142 for afterhours support.
UWEC Counseling Services Mental health services include:
- Group Therapy and Workshops
- Group therapy is a great way for students to feel less alone with their mental health and to make supportive connections with others

- Individual Therapy
- Individual sessions typically last 45-50 minutes and the average number of sessions per year is 5
- The most common presenting concerns include Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Procrastination/Motivation, Attention/Concentration
- Couples Counseling
- Couples Counseling is available for students (only 1 member of the couple needs to be a student)
- Assessments
- Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Assessments are offered to students wanting to further explore their substance use patterns
- These assessments typically take 3 sessions and involve a comprehension evaluation of substance use patterns
- The cost is $100 if the assessment was sanctioned by the University, $160 if it was sanctioned by the court, and no charge if it is voluntary
- Counseling Services does not provide AODA assessments that are required for DUIs
- ADHD Screenings are offered for $80
- These screenings include the Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scale (CAARS), a clinical interview, the Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA), and a follow-up meeting to go over the results.
- The $80 fee must be paid by cash or check.
- Prior to an ADHD screening, you must complete online educational sessions and work on the skills for 2 weeks (call Counseling Services at 715-836-5521to get access to the trainings)
- Eating Disorder assessments are available at no charge to students seeking more information on their body image and eating patterns
- Counseling Services offers assessments to students in order to complete letters for gender-affirming treatments based on the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards. Counseling Services also works collaboratively with Student Health Service to prepare students for Hormone Therapy and provide support throughout the process. These services are offered at no cost to the student.
- Case Management
- Case management help is available for students to assist with referrals and making connections to community providers for longer-term care.
