Learn the Strategies You Need For Success

The Blugold Learning Center offers credit-bearing courses that help students apply success strategies, build academic skills, become familiar with a wide range of academic support services, and increase academic self-confidence. Contact your academic adviser to register for one of our academic success courses described below.

 

GEN 110 - Strategies for Academic Success (2 credits)

This course for incoming first-year students is designed to assist in development of successful academic and personal strategies necessary to meet demands at the college level by formulating educational goals, examining effective learning strategies, and making informed decisions.

 

GEN 201 - Student Success Seminar (2 credits)

This course for returning students is an examination of the factors that lead to success in college. Students will learn from their prior college experiences and develop a personalized success plan for achieving their academic goals. Topics include the science of learning, study strategies, goal setting, time management, resilience, and self-regulation.
