Hmong LLC

Learn more about Hmong culture in a safe space while building a community. Members include anyone who is interested in learning the Hmong culture and living among students with the same interest and students of color, primarily Hmong and Southeast Asian residents.

There are monthly activities that help students to utilize resources on campus and build solidarity with peers. We hold events that are critical and beneficial to the residents.

Living

Hmong LLC (HLLC) is a living learning community in Governors Hall on the east wing of the third and fourth floors.

Community members take course HMNG130 (Hmong American Experiences in the U.S.) and a designated paired course. Students can take additional courses leading to completion of the Critical Hmong Studies Certificate. Students are encouraged to participate in immersion experiences involving the Hmong culture when available.

I earned a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from UW-River Falls and a master's degree in Linguistics from Wayne State University. My education and experience have provided me with a background in planning, leading, and assessing individuals in a classroom setting. As a McNair Scholar, I add valuable insight and experience in TRIO programs that support first generation, low-income, and students with disabilities.
