Intro

Make connections with faculty and other students who share your interest in the healthcare field. The Health Careers LLC will offer community, shared learning experiences, and opportunities beyond the classroom for a variety of majors related to healthcare.

Widgets

The Health Careers LLC is designed for first-year students who are interested in working in the healthcare field. This includes programs and focuses such as pre-med, kinesiology, nursing, public health, social work, communication sciences and disorders, and healthcare administration; however, it is open to all students interested in learning more about healthcare.

Living

The Health Careers LLC is in The David Karlgaard Tower (Towers North) Hall.

Learning

UW-Eau Claire offers a “Navigating Health Systems” certificate that can be added to a student’s degree plan. The courses associated with this LLC will help a student pursue this certificate, completing half the requirements after their first academic year. This certificate would be a great addition to any healthcare related degree.

Programs and Events

The LLC will participate in community building events to promote belonging and connections with other students. In addition, the LLC will be offered the opportunity to hear from guest speakers in the healthcare field, tour local healthcare facilities, visit the virtual simulation nursing space, tour the kinesiology exercise physiology lab spaces, and participate in structured roundtable discussions with health professionals in the field.

How to Join

Choose your Living Learning Community preference on the housing application in the housing portal. The housing portal is all your housing information in one place.

If you are in a roommate group, make sure your roommate indicates the same LLC preferences on their housing application. Otherwise, you will not be placed in the LLC.

Support

The Health Careers LLC is supported by RAs, the Hall Director, and faculty/staff sponsors.
