CIE Mission Statement

Foster the exchange of people and ideas to prepare students for a rapidly changing world, advance campus internationalization, and cultivate intercultural competence, self-efficacy, and inclusive community engagement.

CIE Strategies

We fulfill our mission through a commitment to:

• Provide opportunities for UWEC students, faculty, and staff to engage globally through self-reflection and participation in international and intercultural experiences.

• Strategically identify and remove barriers to participation while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, particularly for those historically underrepresented on campus and in study abroad programs.

• Offer inclusive and equitable support services to study abroad and international students and international scholars in all phases of their on-campus and international experience.
