Your liberal education provides you with a solid foundation of skills and the major or minor you select is a way to focus on an area that you find interesting.
You'll feel confident about your choice of major when you've done some self-assessment and thoughtful exploration; let us help you explore the possibilities. Once you've completed some of the activities listed below, it's important to meet with a Career Counselor or your Academic Advisor to help you evaluate the information and plan some next steps.
Career Cruising – a quick and easy way to begin exploring majors and careers. Start by using one or all four self-assessment tools to help you generate ideas. You can find it in your MyBlugold account under "My Future".
MyMajors – a resource that generates potential majors based on your personal traits.
Sigi 3 – an interactive program designed to help you explore career options and make informed decisions. We suggest completing the self-assessment section first. This link is also located in your MyBlugold account under "My Future".
Card Sorts– grab a deck of cards to help you sort through skills, values, majors, or occupations. You'll be less overwhelmed once you sift through the options. Card sorts are located in Career Services, Schofield 230 – they've got the cards and worksheets to guide you.
