An Entertainment Tradition!

Each semester, UAC presents a film nearly every weekend on campus. Each slate of titles offers a wide variety of quality films, both classics and recent award-winners, so students and community members can all find something they will enjoy. Each film is combined with special programming that complements the storyline and provides a different twist on classic cinema.

Use the link below to see our full series lineup, dates, and movie descriptions. Start times are accurate but close times will vary depending on the movie's runtime so estimated close times are listed. All UAC Films are free to students, faculty/staff, and community members.

*Movies held on the Campus Mall will use Woodland Theater in Davies Center as a rain site.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 - Jan. 30 | Hilltop Lounge 7:00pm
Five years have passed since Hiccup and Toothless united the dragons and Vikings of Berk. Now, they spend their time charting the island's unmapped territories. During one of their adventures, the pair discover a secret cave that houses hundreds of wild dragons - and a mysterious dragon rider who turns out to be Hiccup's long-lost mother, Valka.

Cool Runnings - Feb. 7 | Woodland Theater 7:00pm
Four Jamaican bobsleighers dream of competing in the Winter Olympics, despite never having seen snow. With the help of a disgraced former champion desperate to redeem himself, the Jamaicans set out to become worthy of Olympic selection, and go all out for glory.

What Did You Eat Yesterday - Feb. 13 | Woodland Theater 7:00pm
Shiro Kakei lives with his boyfriend Kenji Yabuki. Shiro works as an attorney and cooks well. He is meticulous and also thrifty. Kenji is a hairdresser with a good personality. The slice-of-life film focuses on this middle-aged gay couple living in Tokyo, Japan. This film is based on a popular manga and TV series of the same name. *Selection by the International Film Committee

Hidden Figures - Feb. 20 | Woodland Theater 7:00pm
Three brilliant African-American women at NASA - Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson - serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world.

Princess Diaries - March 6 | Woodland Theater 7:00pm
Shy San Francisco teenager Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) is thrown for a loop when, from out of the blue, she learns the astonishing news that she's a real-life princess! As the heir apparent to the crown of the small European principality of Genovia, Mia begins a comical journey toward the throne when her strict and formidable grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Julie Andrews), shows up to give her "princess lessons."

Charlie, a young boy from an impoverished family, and four other kids win a tour of an amazing chocolate factory run by an imaginative chocolatier, Willy Wonka, and his staff of Oompa-Loompas.

International Film Society

For nearly 60 years the UW-Eau Claire International Film Society has represented a wide variety of countries that bring about a better understanding of other peoples and cultures, and instill a lifelong appreciation for the art of film.
