About the Academic Skills Center

This is my 4th year as a Learning Center Specialist in the Academic Skills Center where I coordinate our Supplemental Instruction program and teach Strategies for Academic Success (GEN 110).

My purpose in my work is to help students become the best versions of themselves, both personally and professionally. Shoot me an email or drop my office in 2104 Centennial and let me know how I can help you reach your goals!

Prof. Root is a Learning Center Specialist in the Academic Skills Center where she coordinates the Peer Tutoring program and teaches academic support classes. She is also a lecturer in the Dept. of Physics & Astronomy where she teaches the occasional introductory physics course.  She enjoys helping students navigate college life and find academic success.

Zoe is a Learning Center Specialist in the Academic Skills Center where she coordinates the Peer Academic Coaching program and teaches academic success courses.  Her focus in her work is to help students learn about college life and to guide them as they strive to reach their goals, both personally and professionally.
