UW-Eau Claire's Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA) is designed to give UW-Eau Claire, UW-Eau Claire-Barron County, and Chippewa Valley Technical College students the opportunity to present the results of their research and scholarly creative activity. The event highlights student research, creative scholarly accomplishments, and contributions to the academic community. CERCA encourages the dissemination of knowledge from all disciplines represented at the university.
The first UW-Eau Claire student research event, known as Student Research Day, was in 1993 with 60 posters presented. Since 1993, the event has expanded and evolved to include posters, oral presentations, performances, art displays, poetry readings, demonstrations as well as other research/creative activity events, like the Mathematics Retreat, the Provost's Honors Symposium, the Population and Health Leadership Symposium and others.
