I earned a BA in Ancient Studies at the University of Northwestern-St Paul and attended Indiana University-Bloomington for my MA in International Studies, where I investigated representations of the Middle East in North American museums. Building community is my "why"! I teach workshops for students and staff about the Loneliness Epidemic and strategies for fostering deeper connection, as well as coordinating the ProjectConnect program at UWEC. I oversee the university's Prayer and Meditation Space and hope to make it a place where students and staff can find truth and belonging.

Hello! My name is Xia Xiong. I am originally from Wausau, Wisconsin but I currently reside here in Eau Claire with my husband and 4 year old son. I am an alumni from UWEC and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science back in 2015, with a major in Sociology. On my free time I enjoy being outdoors such as going on walks, playing some volleyball and going fishing. I am so excited to get to know each and everyone of you!

I earned a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from UW-River Falls and a master's degree in Linguistics from Wayne State University. My education and experience have provided me with a background in planning, leading, and assessing individuals in a classroom setting. As a McNair Scholar, I add valuable insight and experience in TRIO programs that support first generation, low-income, and students with disabilities.
