Traditions Keeper

Being a Blugold is about exploring your passions and building community. The Traditions Keeper program reflects the wide variety of meaningful opportunities available to currently enrolled UWEC students. By participating in these traditions, you will make new relationships, memories, and help keep our traditions alive for years to come. Being a Traditions Keeper is the best way to become part of our campus community and embrace what it means to be a Blugold. The Traditions Keeper program is open to students enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

How It Works

As students experience different traditions, they will be able to track their progress using the Traditions Keeper Checklist. The full list of traditions can be found on the Traditions Keeper Blugold Connect+ webpage under "My checklists" on the Blugold Connect+ app under "menu".  

Tradition Levels and Milestones

The Traditions Keeper Challenge Coin is where the journey begins! Students will receive this coin to encourage them to rise to the challenge of exploring our campus, our traditions, and become a Traditions Keeper.

As students progress through the Traditions Checklist, they will earn various tokens to commemorate their experiences. All three levels are associated with a milestone token you may receive. Please see details about the levels below.

1. 25 Traditions (Level 1) students earn the Traditions Explorer Lapel Pin.
2. 50 Traditions (Level 2) students earn the next level Traditions Explorer Lapel Pin. 
3. 75 Traditions (Level 3) students earn the impressive UW–Eau Claire Traditions Keeper Medallion with a Certificate of Accomplishment. Students are encouraged to wear this medallion at commencement.

Students will need to submit a Token Request Form for the first two levels. After submitting the request form, they will receive confirmation and instructions for token pick-up. Before receiving the Traditions Keeper medallion, students must submit a brief reflection form and include a photo of themselves participating in their favorite tradition.
