Admitted International Student

Activate your account by visiting https://myusername.uwec.edu. You will need your username and campus ID, which are found in your admit letter or application acknowledgment email.

(Note: Not applicable for CHEPD, exchange students, or internal transfer students from UWEC – Barron County.)

After being admitted and activating your account, sign in to MyBlugold CampS to pay your $100 (nonrefundable) enrollment deposit online using a credit card. Once you've logged in, select the Admissions tile, and click Pay Enrollment Deposit. From here you will indicate the term you were admitted to, whether you are a freshman or transfer student, and how you wish to pay your deposit(s). Alternatively, you can also submit this deposit through Flywire.

Okta adds another layer of protection to your account and information by requiring an additional verification step to log in. In addition to entering your password, Okta notifies you if someone logs into your account, prompting you to either allow or deny the login. Set up multi-factor authentication. 

To sign your Payment Plan Agreement (PPA), log into MyBlugold CampS and go to Tasks > Holds > PPA. Completing this step along with paying your enrollment deposit (step 2 above) will let your academic advisor know you're ready to start planning your schedule! 

Submit your housing application to secure your spot in one of our residence halls. You will be notified of your residence hall placement and roommate a couple of weeks before the start of the semester.

Students who apply earlier may receive earlier notification of their scholarship award.

Unless you already have a valid student visa, you will need to apply for one. Plan ahead, as visa appointment wait times can be long in some areas. Log into the International Student Portal for more information on your visa application process.
 

Fall 2026 - Arrive in Eau Claire

In order to attend the required international student orientation week, plan to arrive in Eau Claire by Monday, August 24. You will have access to your residence hall beginning Monday, August 24, at 8 AM.

Route options for international flights include the following.

• The closest major airport to Eau Claire is Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP). To reach the city of Eau Claire from MSP, you will need to reserve a seat in advance on the MSP Airport Shuttle (90-minute shuttle ride).
• If your airline codeshares with United Airlines, it is also possible to fly into the local (i.e. very small) EAU airport in Eau Claire via Chicago O’Hare (ORD). There is no convenient ground transportation between Chicago and Eau Claire, so make sure to book the connecting flight to EAU if you choose to fly into ORD.

If you arrive in Eau Claire via one of the above methods on August 24 university sponsored transportation is available by advanced registration between 11 AM and 11 PM (only). Outside of this 12-hour arrival window you will need to use a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft or a taxi service upon your arrival in Eau Claire to get to the UW-Eau Claire campus. Be prepared to give the driver the street address of your residence hall.

The university is only able to offer arrival day transportation within Eau Claire. We are not able to offer transportation from MSP or ORD. We are not able to offer transportation on days other than August 24.

Once you have booked your flight, please complete our arrival form no later than August 15. The form is also how you will request transportation to campus from university staff, if eligible.

Spring 2027 arrival details coming in September 2026.

International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students and will take place August 24-28. Your attendance is required throughout this week-long program. Further schedule details will be provided via email shortly before your arrival.

If you applied for admission by providing unofficial copies of your academic credentials, you’ll need to provide the official documents to confirm your admission.

If you applied for admission with coursework still in progress at another school, you’ll need to submit a final transcript.

Mail or bring your official, original, or certified true copies of your academic records and graduation/degree certificate (if applicable) to the Admissions Office (Flesch Family Welcome Center).
