Digital accessibility ensures that all individuals can fully engage with UWEC resources. Everyone at UWEC shares responsibility in making UWEC accessible to all. Digital accessibility creates an inclusive learning and working environment that advances student success, closes equity gaps and promotes employee well-being.

Commitment to an accessible digital campus

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enshrines a right to accessible information within all public institutions, including universities. LTS is committed to fostering inclusive digital spaces for the UW-Eau Claire campus community. We support equitable access for all, regardless of ability. We believe that all users, including those with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or other disabilities, should be able to interact fully with the information and services provided by LTS. We also believe that thoughtful, accessible design benefits everyone, not just those with disabilities.

What UW-Eau Claire is doing to support digital accessibility

Current and planned initiatives include the following:

  • Educate the UW-Eau Claire community on digital accessibility best practices
  • Participate in the campus-wide Digital Accessibility Work Group
  • Implement recommendations from the Digital Accessibility Working Group at Universities of Wisconsin
  • Develop trainings and resources around digital accessibility for faculty, staff, and students
  • Review and improve accessibility within applications managed by LTS
  • Procure additional digital accessibility tools for campus
