Foundation: Development Officer
Job Information
POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in the Foundation beginning 7/1/2025. The working title for this assignment is Development Officer with an official title of Gift Officer I. This is a renewable appointment. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor’s degree
-Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Prior demonstrated experience in higher education, education, marketing, communications, public relations, sales, or related areas
-Demonstrated experience in strong work ethic and high degree of curiosity
-Ability to travel as necessary to meet with prospective donors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience in higher education fundraising
-Appreciation for and passion for working in higher education
-Strong commitment and connection to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
DUTIES: Reporting to the Vice President of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, the Development Officer is responsible for building personal relationships with donors, alumni and friends of UW-Eau Claire to assess interest and capacity in becoming major donors to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. The target level for major gifts in support of UW-Eau Claire people and programs is $25,000 and above. Working in close coordination with the Foundation Vice President and other team members, the Development Officer will focus on one-on-one qualification, cultivation and solicitation activities that promote long-term involvement and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. The Development Officer interacts extensively with alumni and friends of the university. This position focuses primarily on Wisconsin and selected geographic regions of the United States where there are critical masses of UW-Eau Claire alumni. Travel is required. This is a professional academic staff position in the Development Specialist title series.
THE UNIT: The unit of the Foundation consists of 27 staff members and serves as an independent, tax exempt 501©3 organization dedicated to stewarding private funds donated for the sole benefit of the University of Wisconsin -Eau Claire.
