A community for students focused on personal and professional growth

The Leadership Living Learning Community is a space for involved students to find their place on campus, connect new students with growth opportunities, and put leadership ideas into practice. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or just starting to get involved, the Leadership LLC is open to you!

The Leadership LLC is a great opportunity to strengthen minds of young leaders for the future. As a member, I learned different styles of leadership, got connected with leadership opportunities, and had great, respectful conversations with my peers about various situations in society. I think joining the Leadership LLC will prove to be one of the best decisions I ever made!

Programs + events

The Leadership LLC focuses on developing a sense of community while engaging in opportunities to learn and practice leadership. Students can expect to participate in group dinners, game nights, leadership movie nights, guest speakers, and much more.  Additionally, Leadership LLC students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular leadership programming like the Leadership Seminar Series, Hall Council, Student Senate, the Alternative Spring Break/Alternative Winter Break immersion programs, or organization involvement. Opportunities to fulfill service learning are also available to LLC participants.

Living

The Leadership LLC is located in Oak Ridge Hall on upper campus. The community will meet regularly and engage in leadership programming inside the hall.

Learning

The course attached to the Leadership LLC is IDIS 190: Leadership for a Better World. This course examines the Social Change Model and how it can be applied to everyday examples. Through open dialogue, group activities, individual reflections and real-world application, students will see themselves as change agents equipped with the skills necessary for Social Change leadership.

The Leadership LLC gave me tools to think for myself, connect with others, and grow comfortable speaking. It kickstarted my social life in the dorms and brought me closer to people on-campus through fun events and conversations!
