The project is expected to be completed in fall 2018, and the footbridge will be closed from late May to late August in both 2017 and 2018.

    Commencement exercises for 1,300 students at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be held May 20 in Zorn Arena. Candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences will receive degrees during a 9 a.m. ceremony. Candidates from the College of Business and the College of Education and Human Sciences will receive degrees during a 2 p.m. ceremony.

The chance to put her medical skills to use in her hometown, says Kelsey Meyer, who will serve as a primary care provider for Prevea Health in Cornell, where she grew up and still lives. Kelsey, who earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UW-Eau Claire in 2013, will graduate May 20 with her DNP.

    Like many Blugolds, Judith Jones is looking forward to many members of her family gathering in Zorn Arena to celebrate her Dec. 17 graduation from UW-Eau Claire. But unlike her fellow graduates, it will be Jones’ children and grandchildren in the bleachers cheering and snapping pictures as their mom/grandmother walks across the stage to receive her diploma. This month, Jones, a 76-year-old great-grandmother from Neillsville, will earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing, an accomplishment she hopes will open new doors for her within the nursing profession.
