Do you plan on transferring to UWEC? If so, you are going to want your financial aid to come with you too! Follow the steps below to either renew or complete a new FAFSA application.
The steps needed to apply for financial aid as a transfer student depends on whether you completed a FAFSA in the previous year.
If you completed a FAFSA in the previous year:
You can simply use the icon above to login and renew your FAFSA for the next year with updated information.
If you do not have a FAFSA on file from the previous year:
You will need to complete a new application.
You can apply as early as October 1st.
The UWEC school code is: 003917
You can find out what your financial aid award might be by using our Financial Aid Estimator.
You can check your financial aid status within My Blugold CampS and provide any additional information requested. Your financial aid file must be complete before you can be awarded financial aid.
** The federal government will select some students to complete a verification of their financial aid application. If you are selected, you will be contacted by UWEC and we will work closely with you to compile documents needed for verification.
Note: If you are a mid-year transfer student, starting in spring or summer, you may have an additional delay while we research the financial aid information from your previous institution. This process doesn’t usually take long, but if you are concerned, feel free to contact Blugold Central.
You will receive a financial aid award from UWEC. UWEC typically begins to award incoming transfer students in March.
Review your financial aid package and decide to accept or decline your loans.
Note: If you have military or veteran status, there are additional benefits and resources available to you.
