Intro text
Most meetings for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Chess Club max out at 10 players, but one event, involving one of the game’s biggest names, could soon change everything.
On Oct. 3, international master and popular chess streamer John Bartholomew will make a rare visit to a college campus when he hosts a free simultaneous exhibition in Davies Center. Bartholomew will face up to 30 students and community members at once during the “simul,” making moves quickly at each board while participants have a full “revolution” to think about their reply until Bartholomew returns, in an effort to educate and inspire chess learners.
