Biography
Dr. Singla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and the founder of the Assistive Robotics & Control Laboratory (ARC Lab). His research lies at the intersection of robotics, control systems, haptics, and human–robot interaction, with a particular emphasis on assistive technologies and shared autonomy.
Before joining UW–Eau Claire, Dr. Singla conducted postdoctoral research at the Universidad de O’Higgins in Chile, where he worked on soft robotics, delay-robust control, and autonomous navigation systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Robotics from the University of Delhi.
At UW–Eau Claire, Dr. Singla is developing a research program that combines theoretical modeling, simulation, and experimental validation to advance assistive robotic systems and intelligent control technologies. Through the ARC Lab, he actively engages undergraduate students in hands-on research involving robotics, haptics, teleoperation, and human–robot collaboration.
Outside the laboratory, he enjoys long-distance running, hiking, and exploring scenic trails.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Undergraduate students have opportunities to participate in research through summer projects, independent study, and capstone experiences, subject to funding availability. Students interested in robotics, control systems, programming, or human–robot interaction are encouraged to contact Dr. Singla or visit the ARC Lab website for additional information.
