With the Fall 2022 semester I returned from two years of externally fully funded leave, during which time I nearly finished writing two books: Excessive Flashpoints, Solitary Demands, Darkest Corners: Ian Curtis, Joy Division, Critical Theory, and Me (a part personal memoir) and book one of 21st Century British TV Crime Drama: a Critical Guide (a planned multi-volume series).  Each book is inspired by five classes in five different semesters I have previously taught at UW-Eau Claire.  I continue to work toward completing both of these books.  I am the producer and dj host (every week running since July 2005) of Insurgence, which broadcasts Thursdays, 10 pm to midnight US Central Time, on WHYS Community Radio, 96.3 FM Eau Claire, and also simultaneously streams worldwide, via the web, at: www.whysradio.org  On Insurgence I feature post-punk and indie music, especially from the British Isles, and progressive music of protest, struggle, and resistance.  My principal areas of long-term personal interest, and enjoyment, are music, television and cinema, reading, travel, and sports.  I am retiring at the end of the Fall 2023 semester after 26 years teaching and working as a professor at UWEC, and after 38 years teaching and working as a university level faculty member.  I will be moving to live full-time in San Diego, California, as of early June 2024.
