Joshua spent much of his social work career working with children and families in low-income communities of Los Angeles as a field based therapist, supervisor, and manager.  He also worked on committees with the Los Angeles Department of Health and Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services.  Through his own Being the Difference Practice he has also provided workshops in schools for children and parents, workshops for those working with or for diverse communities, developed Mastermind Groups that focus on goal setting and personal development and integrated poetry and clinical social work practices to develop strength based poetic narratives called Soul Translations.  Currently he continues to provide workshops and supervises therapists in Los Angeles through Skype.   He enjoys creative writing, playing complicated board games, and exploring the concept of story and its interaction in the lives we lead.
