Orientation looks for energetic, engaged students to work for our team - and we have positions available each year. Our positions offer competitive pay AND options for free housing. Orientation & Welcome Interns:
Applications: Closed (open in November 2026)
- Orientation Intern: oversees our staff of Orientation Assistants, and specializes in administrative and logistical aspects of running our orientation programs. They facilitate training and social activities for staff, and work with faculty and professional staff in leading major activities during orientation.
- Blugold Welcome Intern: manages major aspects of event planning for our Blugold Welcome series of events in the fall (including the brainstorming, organization, and implementation processes), and oversees our team of Blugold Welcome leaders.
Interns average 5-10 hours/week in the spring (Feb-May), and then work 25-40 hours/week (depending on the position) in the summer and early fall (June-August/September). Pay starts at $14.00/hour with returner pay increases each year.
Orientation Assistants (OAs):

- OAs welcome incoming students and families to campus through a variety of fun programs and events each summer. This position offers 20-40 hours per week with competitive pay, as well as free housing on campus. Students gain significant communication, leadership, and program planning skills and collaborate with a variety of offices across campus. We hire 20-25 students each summer.
Blugold Welcome Leaders:

- Welcome leaders work the first few weeks of school prepping for and managing welcome events for new students – check out our main page here! They work both on and off-campus, connect with community businesses, and gain event planning experience. Options for early move-in are available to those living in the residence halls for the fall term. We hire 8-10 students each fall.
