I am a broadly trained physical geographer with a research specialization in fluvial geomorphology (the study of landforms created and modified by rivers). I teach a variety of introductory and upper-level courses in both physical and environmental geography, and I have an active program of collaborative research with undergrad students.
Zach is a physical geographer who uses drones, laser scanners, and remote sensing data to investigate the impact of humans on the surface of our planet. He studies how landforms have evolved, in response to human activity, and how we restore these systems. He also studies the evolution of landscapes in the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan) following the last glacial maximum.
