On View: "Ludic Visions | Designing Decision"
The Foster Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is hosting a unique exhibition that explores how tabletop game designers transform rules, systems and stories into visual forms that shape meaningful play.
Blending art, psychology and strategy, the exhibition, “Ludic Visions: Designing Decision,” reveals games as both creative worlds and decision-making engines, inviting viewers to reflect, engage and discover the meaning we create through play. The exhibition will be on view from Jan. 30-March 4, with an opening reception from 6-7:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
Curated by Matthew Wigdahl, a former assistant professor of graphic design at UW-Eau Claire, the exhibition will include games by Leder Games, Thunderworks Games, Earthborne Games and Erik Evensen from Paverson Games and Erika Svanoe Games.
In addition to regular gallery hours, the exhibition will feature additional evening hours for game play by visitors from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
All Foster Gallery events are free and open to the public. People with disabilities requesting accommodations are asked to email fostergallery@uwec.edu at least five business days in advance of their visit. For gallery hours, visit the Foster Gallery website.
