In support of our mission to maintain a supportive environment for research, scholarly and creative endeavors, ORSP offers a number of events!

ORSP Scholarly Spotlight Series (was Faculty/Academic Staff Forum)

The ORSP Scholarly Spotlight Series continues the proud tradition, since 1992, of sharing research, scholarly, and creative projects happening on campus (and in the community) and providing opportunities for intellectual engagement across campus. Scholarly Spotlight events will mix it up with panel discussions, 30-minute research talks with audience engagement, 2 15-minute research talks and more, all of which are guaranteed to stimulate your thinking and connect you with others on campus.

When: First and third Wednesdays of the semester (not the first day of classes)

Time: 12:10-12:50 pm

Location: Centennial Hall 3314

Livestream: Zoom (Passcode: 977780)

The current schedule can be found on ORSP's SharePoint site and on the University Events Calendar. Older presentations can be found on ORSP's YouTube channel.

Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA)

UW-Eau Claire's annual Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA) gives undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to present the results of their research and creative activity. The event highlights student research accomplishments and contributions to the academic community.

Celebration of Scholarship (formerly the Authors Celebration)

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire faculty and staff are deeply involved in scholarly research and creative activity. Despite heavy demands in teaching, advising, and service within and beyond the university, they persist in scholarly engagement. The Celebration of Scholarship (formerly the Authors Celebration), which was first held in 2006, honors the scholarly output of faculty and staff at UW-Eau Claire by featuring a select number of scholars with major scholarly achievements as well as grants seekers and sabbatical recipients.

To see a more complete listing of UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff, and student publications, presentations, exhibitions and other scholarly achievements, please go to the Report on Scholarly Achievements archive.

The next Celebration of Scholarship is Monday, October 19, 2026, 4:30-6:00 in the Ojibwe Ballroom, Davies Center.

Sabbatical Information Sessions

These sessions offer UW-Eau Claire faculty opportunities to learn more about the sabbatical process (May) and to workshop their sabbatical applications (August). UWEC Faculty can find more information about these sessions on the sabbatical page on ORSP's SharePoint site.
