Dr. Herman teaches courses within the Biology core and upper level courses in Microbiology. Current courses include Biology 221: Foundations in Biology I, Biol 250: Microbiology, Biol 371: Medical Mycology and Biol 402: Current Topics in Virology and Immunology.
Dr. Herman's research interests include the discovery of novel classes of antimicrobials produced by soil bacteria as well as characterizing genes encoding proteins that promote morphogenesis in the fungal pathogen Candida albicans.
