  • Deliver comprehensive media resources—including photography, video highlights, athlete bios, statistical updates, and game schedules—to support coverage and promotion of assigned sports.
  • Direct and execute game-day operations for all assigned teams, including media setup, public address announcing, official scoring, roster and program preparation, and immediate post-game reporting to regional and national outlets.
  • Advance the department’s branding and digital identity through high-impact social media strategy, graphic design, and video production that aligns with institutional standards.
  • Manage award nominations and recognition campaigns for student-athletes, ensuring their achievements receive appropriate regional and national visibility.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise game-day staff, including statisticians, photographers, videographers, and other event personnel.
  • Utilize advanced statistical platforms such as PrestoStats, NCAA Genius LiveStats, and Gymnastics Virtius to produce accurate, real-time in-game data and maintain season-long statistical archives.
  • Serve as the Official NCAA Scoring Representative for all UWEC home competitions, ensuring compliance with national standards and reporting protocols.
  • Design high-quality digital content—including pre/post-game graphics, award templates, and recruiting materials—using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).
  • Commit to extensive night and weekend coverage, supporting the full competitive calendar of a multi-sport NCAA program.
  • Support daily operations of the Sports Information Office and contribute to department-wide initiatives as assigned by the Sports Information Director and Athletics Director.

Additional Support Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process media credential requests for local, regional, and national outlets.
  • Arrange interviews with coaches, student-athletes, and staff, ensuring professional and timely communication.
  • Assist in promoting home events, special initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative media and public relations strategies that enhance the department’s competitive brand.
  • Support the publicity and communications efforts for a complex 25-sport athletics model.
  • Maintain and enhance a strategically driven athletics website, ensuring timely updates and high-quality content.
  • Oversee media coverage logistics for home events, integrating modern broadcast and production technologies.
  • Produce video features, highlight packages, and live-streaming content for digital platforms.
  • Create editorial content for fundraising materials, brochures, advertising, radio promotions, and campus publications supporting intercollegiate athletics.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree and prior collegiate athletics experience are considered valuable assets.
  • Extensive knowledge of all 25 UWEC sports and a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, paired with strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • A proven commitment to athletic excellence within an academic setting, with professionalism and stamina required to support a demanding NCAA athletics schedule.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
