A class which begins at times other than on the hours (e.g., 9:30 a.m.) will take the final examination at the time scheduled for the next hour (e.g,. 10:00 a.m.).
Exams end 10 minutes before the hour, allowing students time to move to their next exam.
Students with three or more exams in one day may make arrangements with one of the instructors to take the exam another day. If a common exam causes three or more exams in one day, it is the responsibility of the common exam instructor to arrange an alternate time that does not conflict with other exams and does not cause too many exams in one day. Approval for the arranged change must be obtained from the associate dean of the college in which the course is offered.
To change the time of a final examination, a student must have the permission of the instructor, as well as the department chair and the associate dean of the college in which the course is offered.
Exams can be rescheduled during the final exam period or later if there are extenuating circumstances over which the student has no control (e.g., hospitalization and military obligation). Changes are not allowed for reasons such as an already purchased plane ticket, leaving campus early, or a family vacation.
To schedule an exam for an entire class before its regularly scheduled time, an instructor must have the permission of the department chair and the dean.
Evening classes are those classes beginning after 5:00 p.m. If a course meets more than one day a week after 5:00 p.m., then it will test on the earliest day of final exam week.
