In his first commencement address as interim chancellor at UW-Eau Claire, Dr. Michael Carney celebrated the optimism of the day. He reminded graduates on Dec. 20 to look to the future, despite what he calls the ironically named ending of their college journey. Carolyn Welch ’74 delivered the “Charge to the Class.”

Meudt, a native of Waunakee, will return to the Madison area in January to start her full-time position as an engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, working primarily on road and bridge design.
