CETL (Center for Teaching and Learning) - Professional development on teaching, inclusive pedagogy, technology and teaching, online course development, and UW-Systems teaching professional development opportunities.
Compliance Training – assigned to new employees for completion within 30 days of hire and to those required to complete on a defined basis.
Continuing Education - Supervisory Management - If you have been promoted to supervisor, looking to advance into a supervisor position or you’ve been supervising a team for a while, you may be interested in participating the Supervisory Management Certificate program. This is a public program offered through, UWEC Continuing Education. It is open to UWEC-UWBC employees at no cost to you or your department. EDI (Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion) Professional Development -EDI training is offered to all faculty and staff. There are three tiers of training:
Tier 1 - Consists of an online course that is mandatory training for all faculty and staff
Tier 2 - Consists of 4 parts - Microgressions, Campus Connect:Suicide Awareness, Safe Space and Diverse Book Challenge
Tier 3 - EDI Certification
Employee Wellness and Fitness: Recreation and Sport Operations and Human Resources have partnered to create opportunities that support employee personal growth and development. Visit the Human Resources page on the Blugold insider (select “Employee Wellness”) for information specific to employee wellness including details on the University’s EAP as well as specific employee wellness events you can attend such as biometric screenings, lunch and learns, wellness fairs etc. Employees and their partners also have access to free or low cost Recreation programs including but not limited group exercise classes, fitness centers, massage therapy, personalized training, outdoor equipment rentals, bouldering/climbing and lap swim. Human Resources - Human Resources offers several professional develop opportunities including the Excellence in Supervision and the Excellence in Leadership Workshop Series. Additional opportunities include Progress Reports Made Simple, the Blugold Service Excellence - Employee Engagement and Blugold Service Excellence Philosophy.
LTS (Learning Technology Services) - LTS offers training on many popular software programs for data management and analysis, desktop publishing, presentation software, graphic and digital media, web design, video and audio editing, and UWEC specific software.
Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) - ORSP offers sessions on tips for seeking grants as well as faculty/staff forums where campus members can learn about the range of research taking place on campus. The annual Authors Celebration highlights successful publication of scholarly work of staff from every discipline, while the annual CERCA (Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity) event showcases student scholarship.
