Planning your menu

Blugold Catering provides food and alcohol service for all campus events. Their experienced staff will work to create the perfect menu for your celebration. Tastings are available upon request.

Once you have secured a room, your next step is to plan your menu. To do that, please create an account and reserve your event date with catering in Catertrax, our online ordering system.  

If you have additional questions please contact the Catering staff in the Blugold Dining office at 715-836-2632 or 715-828-6008 or email them.

To assure the highest quality service, please notify us at least ten working days in advance for dinners, luncheons or large receptions. For small receptions, coffees or takeout orders, seven working days notice is requested. A guaranteed count is requested three days before the event.

ON CAMPUS: If a student is placing an order on behalf of a department- contact information in CaterTrax will need to be the person responsible for paying the invoice and will also be the approver of the event order 

Please note that there will now be a $500 minimum order for Saturday events.

Wedding Cake Information

Our bakery staff has over 35 years of experience creating beautiful, customized wedding cakes. You may also opt to bring in a cake or desserts from your favorite bakery. Learn more

Ordering a cake

1. Choose cake size

Full Sheet Cake: $54.00
Half Sheet Cake: $28.00
Quarter Sheet Cake : $18.00

2. Choose the flavor and frosting

Cake Flavors: White, Chocolate, Marble and Carrot
Frostings: White, Chocolate and Cream Cheese

3. Place order

Email Blugold Catering at catering@uwec.edu or call them at 715-836-2632 to place your order.
Please allow us three business days to process your order.

Payment can be made by check (made payable to Sodexo), Blugold Account, Meal Plan Dollars, cash or credit card. You may pick it up in our office (Davies Center 250), at Marketplace at Davies Center or at Riverview Cafe at the Hilltop Center.

Alcohol Service

Blugold Catering provides all alcohol service on campus. Both cash bars and hosted bars are available for your special evening. We will also do our best to accommodate any special requests for unique cocktails or specialty beers. 

Cash Bar

Guests pay for all alcoholic beverages and soda.

Option One: Bar with Mixed Drinks, Beer, Wine and Soda
Requires a $75 setup charge per bar and $75 minimum sales per hour.
If minimum sales are not met, the difference will be billed to the host.

Option Two: Bar with Beer, Wine and Soda
Requires a minimum $50 setup charge per bar and $50 minimum sales per hour.
If minimum sales are not met, the difference will be billed to the host.

Open Bar

Event sponsor pays for all alcoholic beverages and soda.
Requires a $75 setup charge per bar.

Groups that would like to provide a bar or alcohol service at their event must have an Alcohol Authorization Form on file and approved by Event Services no fewer than ten working days before the event.

Request outside food

Blugold Dining has exclusive rights to provide all types of food services on campus. No food or beverages in excess of $250 may be provided by campus organizations or off-campus vendors unless authorization is granted through the Event Services office at least 24 hours in advance.

All student, faculty and community groups wishing to bring food to their meetings or events must complete a Dining Waiver in advance of their meeting if the food and/or beverage cost exceeds $250.

Unauthorized food service may result in the revocation of campus reservation privileges. Full details are provided in the Food On Campus policy.

The reception was amazing. Everything was more than what we imagined. The cake was phenomenal. We got a lot of wonderful comments on the whole room and the food! Thank you for the best wedding ever!

About Blugold Catering by Sodexo

Our culinary team has designed a variety of menus to fit a wide range of tastes and budgets, including regional ingredients, University favorites and specialty items. Our Catering Guide will help you through the planning process of your special event, and provide suggestions of what we can do to make your event memorable, from start to finish. Should you desire a customized menu for your event, we will be happy to meet with you to create a special menu for your specific needs.

As a member of the Eau Claire Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, we can place the resources of Eau Claire’s hospitality community at your disposal. We especially welcome non-profit organizations to consider the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire for weekend and summer meetings, conferences and conventions.
