First-Year Application

Are you ready to join the Blugold family?

It’s time to tell us your story. Through our holistic approach to admitting students, we consider many academic factors but we also seek to learn more about you as an individual. Make sure to use the essay section as an opportunity to share your story with us. What drives you? How do you help others? Why do you feel you would thrive here at UW-Eau Claire?

Deadlines

We begin accepting applications on August 1 for the fall semester of the following year. For fall admission, submit your application and all required documents by December 1 for priority consideration and by February 1 to be considered on a space-available basis. December 1 is also the priority deadline for scholarships.

How to apply

Please submit the following:

  1. One of the following two applications.
    • UW System application (recommended option if you want to apply to multiple UW System schools)
      • Note: When declaring a major on the application, you may not see the exact name of the program you’d like to select. Instead, please select the category that your major falls under or the category that best matches your area of study. You will have the opportunity to update your specific major during Orientation.
  2. $25 application fee
Note: If the fee is a financial hardship, please email admissions@uwec.edu to request a fee waiver and explain the reason for your need (e.g. eligible for free and reduced lunch, income loss due to COVID-19, etc.).
  3. High school transcript
Note: An unofficial initial high school transcript may be uploaded during the application process. An official final high school transcript will be required prior to enrollment.
  4. ACT or SAT scores (writing portion not required) - In accordance with the resolution made by the UW System Board of Regents, UW-Eau Claire is not requiring test scores for students applying for the fall 2020 and fall 2021 terms. Choosing to apply test-optional means that your ACT/SAT scores will not be considered as part of your admissions review process. (Click here for more information.)
Note: If official test scores have not been sent, students may self-report test scores through the UWEC-specific application or through their MyBlugold CampS portal after activating their UWEC account. Students will be required to submit official ACT or SAT score results before the first day of classes if they did not choose to apply test-optional.

Note: If you’re a military member, submit Joint Service Transcript or Transcript for Community College of the Air Force.

This information should be sent to:
