Experience in a clinical setting is an integral part of College of Nursing and Health Sciences program. You will work side-by-side with nursing faculty and the best medical professionals in the region. You will benefit from the knowledge and hands-on learning that is only possible through applying theoretical skills in practice.
Clinical experiences begin in a spacious, well-equipped, and technologically advanced skills lab/ clinic/ and clinical simulation area. You will have many computer-assisted supports available throughout the curriculum and are encouraged to use the skills lab on an ongoing basis to continue developing the technical skills for practice.
Clinical courses begin in the second semester of the professional nursing program, typically during the second semester of the sophomore year.
Community partnerships are a key ingredient in getting students prepared for successful careers in nursing. We have many affiliations across the Midwest and the United States, allowing high-quality, flexible placements for clinicals and practica.
