The Blugold Sales Challenge is an internal sales competition sponsored by our award-winning UW-Eau Claire Sales Team. Blugold participants compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to travel to compete nationally. The Blugold Challenge will put your sales skills to the test while building your resume and network of professional contacts.
The Blugold Sales Challenge is a long and established tradition that will be celebrating its 22nd year anniversary in 2023. This year's event is being sponsored by Bunzl, Keyence, Uline, The Insurance Center, United Rentals, Northwestern Mutual, Cottingham & Butler, Aflac, Penske, and Sherwin-Williams.
Are you up for the challenge? If so, you might win cash, secure a job or an internship, or just have fun. Top prize includes a trophy and $500! The other top 4 finalists will receive a trophy and $100!
What is the Blugold Sales Challenge?
UW-Eau Claire students competing at the Blugold Sales Challenge are involved in a 20-minute sales role-play using the sponsoring company’s product or service. Sales professionals from the sponsor company will judge the role plays. Student competitors receive their evaluation sheets and are given access to digital recordings of their role plays to review, critique, and/or include in their digital portfolio.
All participants receive a Blugold Sales Challenge Certificate. Students also receive points towards the University Sales Center Alliance Certified Sales Student Certificate.
Your performance in the Blugold Sales Challenge determines whether you are selected to represent UW-Eau Claire in Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up, Collegiate World Cup of Sales, or other sales competitions held around the country.
